- Description
- Sources Sought. The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to contract for guard services for the National Hurricane Center (NHC), Tropical Storm Prediction Center, located on the campus of the Florida International University in Miami, Florida. The contractor shall provide trained and certified guard protection services on a 24 hour per day, 7 day a week basis including holidays. The contractor shall provide trained Police Service Technicians (PST) to perform services under the contract. Guard services shall include, but are not limited to: entrance control, maintaining a visitor log, monitor access control system, discover and prevent unauthorized access, screen mail and packages, monitor traffic through the use of exterior cameras, door checks, conduct perimeter patrols, etc. The intended acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to acquire from one source under the authority of 41 USC 253(c) (1). The NHC facility was constructed on ground leased from the Florida International University. The University will not allow other contractors to provide guard services on its property. No other source can be considered due to the limitations/restrictions imposed by the University. This is not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available at this time. The Government reserves the right to solicit bids based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice or issue a contract to the Florida International University, whichever is determined to be more advantageous to the Government without further notice. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15) calendar days of its publication.
