Description
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS, Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) requires a contract for aircraft and crew services for aerial release of sterilized fruit flies to support the Mediterranean Fruit Fly Preventative Release Program and additional fruit fly aerial release programs within the State of Florida on an as needed basis. A firm fixed-price, requirements contract, with an economic price adjustment for aviation fuel is anticipated, for aircraft and crew. The effective period of the contract shall be October 1, 2004, or date of award, whichever is later, through September 30, 2005. The contract will include two 1-year unilateral options to extend the effective period, and unilateral options to extend the effective period on a month-to-month basis thereafter, not to exceed an additional 6 months. Orders for aircraft and crew, and notice of return of aircraft/crew, or suspension or termination of a specific service requirement shall be provided to the Contractor by the designated APHIS Contracting Officer?s Representative (COR) on an as needed basis. Special purpose modifications to the aircraft will be required for installation of the Government-owned, refrigerated insect release machine and related equipment. The Solicitation is scheduled to be released around June 30, 2004. Proposals are solicited on an unrestricted basis. Therefore all responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. The Government intends to provide the solicitation and all amendments via this web site only. NOTIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE SENT TO OFFERER REGARDING THE ISSUANCE OF THE SOLICITATION NOR ANY OF ITS AMENDMENTS. IT IS THE OFFERER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THIS WEB SITE PERIODICALLY FOR UPDATES.
