- The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), the Department of Defense Medical School and Health Sciences University, Bethesda, MD intends to procure an additional training course against its current requirements contract number MDA905-03-D-0003 with Systems Improvement, Inc. of Knoxville, TN 37923 . The Departmentof Defense TRICARE Management Activity recently directed the Center for Education and Research in Patient Safety (CERPS) to provide additional Patient Safety training. A new course was developed by CERPS to meet this requirement and it includes advanced TapRooT training. This course will be implemented by awarding CLIN 0003 for the development and offering of the new course with an estimated value of $150,000.00. The course is an advanced two and a half day healthcare specific training session and will cover advanced TapRoot Techniques including Critical Human Action Profile (CHAP), Safeguards Analysis and Change Analysis. The course will be taught off-site by two contractor personnel and will be conducted in the greater Washington, DC area. Up to six (6) courses for thirty (30) personnel per course will be conducted under this delivery order. This advance training will include instruction in the use of TapRooT software (including Charting Software for drawing, SnapCharTs, TapRooT Root Cause Tree Software with the Corrective Action Helper Module to analyze root causes and develop effective fixes). All of these courses are registered trademarks course of TapRooT.
