Description
Concerns having the ability to furnish the services described herein are requested to give written notification (including the telephone number for a point of contact) to the procuring office above with 45 calendar days from the date of this synopsis. The U.S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Discipline, has a requirement for a UNITY INOVA 300 Narrow Bore High Resolution NMR Console. The NMR workstation should operate VARIAN VNMR software and shall be compatible with NMR data acquired using VNMR software. The NMR console shall be operational with the following VARIAN NMR probes installed in an Oxford 300/54 ALOX style magnet including, VARIAN 300 BB 10mm 30-122 MHz (10mm broadband probe), VARIAN 300 SW 5mm 30-122 MHz (5mm broadband probe), and VARIAN 300 ID/PFG 30-122 MHz (5mm pulsed field gradient indirect detection probe). The Console shall include: Console/Workstation Power Kit, US/Can/Jap Inovq 200-600/INFINITY plus 200-800, Console to Magnet Cable Kit, 16-ft (4.8m) 200-600 MHz Systems, 14 Channel Shim Power Supply, INOVA, 200/300/400 NB/WB Z-PFG Upper Barrel, Dual Fullband RF System, 100-Watt Highband Amplifier Module Upgrade, RF Attenuator Module 2-channel, Phase Modulator, Extended Range Variable Temperature Unit INOVA, Remote Status Module with 40 ft (12.2m) cable, Deuterium Automation Module 200-400 MHz, High Performance Waveform Generator INOVA, Worktable, Acquisition Computer Software License, VnmrJ Single Workstation License, Sun Blade 150 with 17 inch Flat CRT Color Monitor, Ethernet Cable Kit 40 ft (12.2m) INOVA, and HP LaserJet 2300D Printer/Plotter. Based on the information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the Government considers the items specified as a sole source from Varian NMR Systems, Palo Alto, CA, and proposes to negotiate a contract with that firm. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required item/services or its functional equivalent (based upon the criteria specified herein) are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures and such other materials, which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, request for such document without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice to the procurement. See note 22.
