- Description
- This procurement is for the abatement of hazardous materials and renovation of existing Building 650, Project 612-101D, at the VA Medical Center, Mather Field, Sacramento, California. The work includes abatement of both asbestos and lead containing materials and the removal of a small number of PCB containing Light fixture ballasts, installation of structural steel cross bracing, testing of selected structural moment connections, major architectural renovation of the Clinical Lab, Pharmacy, EMS Area, new handicap accessible toilets, new electrical and tele/data closets, renovation of the electrical branch and lighting circuitry, and fire alarm system; expansion of stairways #3 & #5, installation of a new fire sprinkler system, installation of a new mechanical system in the Clinical Lab and renovation of the existing mechanical system, site work and other work as described. The cost range is between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000. RFP documents will be available June 24, 2004. Competition for this procurement is limited to 8(a) firms, nationwide with an approved NACIS 236220. This limitation is in accordance with FAR 52.219-18 (June 2003), Notification of Competition Limited to (8)a Concerns. Procurement method: Contracting by negotiation- FAR Part 15, Source Selection (Best Value) where the importance of cost and technical selection factors vary. Extensive prior renovation experience of similar type health care project in magnitude and complexity will be part of technical evaluation.
