Description
In accordance with simplified acquisition procedures the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis (DCTD), Developmental Therapeutics Program (DTP), Toxicology and Pharmacology Branch (TPB), plans to procure with the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), 1940 West Taylor Street, Chicago, Illinois 60612, to complete work orders issued under contract N01-CM-87103. The Toxicology and Pharmacology Branch (TPB) of the Developmental Therapeutics Program , DCTD, NCI investigates the toxic potential of anti-cancer and anti-AIDS compounds in intact experimental animals. Data generated from these animal studies are used to predict the potential toxicity of these compounds in humans. Contract N01-CM-87103 was issued to the University of Illinois at Chicago on January 15, 1998 for Preclinical Toxicology and Pharmacology of Drugs Developed for Cancer, AIDS and AIDS-Related Illnesses. When the order expired on February, 29, 2004 the UIC had been working on four work orders on the development of zebularine and ethambutol analog which need to be completed. This is not a request for competitive quotation. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement without the introduction of new variables into on-going experiments, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The statement of capabilities and any other information furnished must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow the NCI staff to determine if the party can perform this requirement. An original and one copy of the capability statements must be received in the contracting office by 1:00 p.m. EDT, on June 23, 2004. All questions must be in writing and can be faxed to (301) 402-4513 or emailed to dm170b@nih.gov . It is the vendor's responsibility to call (301) 402-4509 to insure questions have been received. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No collect call will be accepted. NAICS 541380, Size Standard 6M
