Description
The USCG MLCP, Alameda, CA, is considering a small business HUBZone set-aside contract for the Drydock/Repair of USCGC LONG ISLAND, a 110 foot patrol boat, homeport of Valdez, AK. Work will be accomplished during the period of 13 Oct through 7 Dec 2004. Contractor will be required to provide a facility capable of drydocking/hauling out the cutter and must be located within the inland waters of Alaska, straits of Juan de Fuca, WA or the Puget Sound, WA. Contractor will be required to accomplish the following (not all inclusive) work: Appendages underwater preserve, internal, hull plating renewal, underwater body ultrasonic testing, spray rail and stern flap install, tanks clean and inspect, propulsion shaft removal and reinstall, prop shaft bearings check clearance, prop clean and inspect, sea strainer overhaul, grey water piping replacement, rudders inspect, hull plating underwater body partial preserve and temporary services. The HUBZone firm must meet the limitations of (FAR 52.219-3) which states ?at least 50% of the cost of contract performance will be performed by the concern or other HUBZone small business concerns. The NAICS code assigned to this procurement will be 336611 with a size standard of less than 1,000 employees. Firms that have been certified as a small business HUBZone by the SBA and are interested in this acquisition, must submit the following information: (a) company name and address; (b) Company?s POC, including telephone and facsimile numbers and e-mail address; (c) HUBZone certification to Rebecca Budde at rbudd@d11.uscg.mil, not later than 4 June 2004. A decision whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set-aside or not will be posted on www.eps.gov by 11 June 2004.
