Description

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a contract to perform the installation of two Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) tag detection sites within the existing Second Powerhouse Corner Collector (B2CC). The work will entail sheet pile installation, excavation, tremie concrete placement, demolition of the existing B2C C channel (two 30 ft. segments), dewatering, high quality concrete placement, including the use of specialty non-magnetic concrete mixtures and fiberglass rebar, fabrication and installation of a 120,000 lb. fiberglass PIT tag detection structure, electric al power distribution, backfilling, and wood building construction. All construction activities, with the exception of the PIT tag detection structure fabrication, will be located on Cascade Island at the Bonneville Project, Skamania County, WA. Contractor required to commence work within 5 days of receipt of Notice to Proceed (scheduled for August 23, 2004) and complete the entire work no later than April 1, 2005. Estimated cost range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Invitation for Bid (IF B W9127N-04-B-0007) will be available on or about 9 Jul 2004. Tentative bid opening is on or about 10 Aug 2004 or 30 days after issue. This procurement is open to both small and large business concerns.
