- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation Request for Proposal (RFP) (Solicitation Number 583-64-04) for a Sole Source commercial procurement with Gerber Coburn Company, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, and supplemented with additional information included in this notice. A Notice of Intent to Sole Source was published, seeking contractors who could perform the requirements of this RFP. No responses were received to that notice. This announcement constitutes the solicitation. A written solicitation will NOT be issued. A proposal is being requested from Gerber Coburn Company. The National American Industry Classification code is 333314 with a business size code of 500 employees. This solicitation will be issued through Federal Business Opportunities (FedBiz) website (www.fedbizops.gov). All future information will be distributed through the FedBizOps website. The R.L.R. VA Medical Center intends to award a Firm Fixed Price, Sole Source (no multiple awards) contract for the delivery, installation, and training on the following items/quantities()/Part Numbers: SGX Plus Generator/(1)/267429 Acuity Plus/(2)/31265-20 Lens Washer/(1)/175234 Bar Code Wand/(1)/155602 Bar Code Wand/(1)/196501 Metrix ConNect/(1)/256789 Grey Surface Blocks (SB)/(110)/170431 Blue SB/(20)/170421 Gold SB/(20)/170441 Kappa Finish Blocks/(100)/4GAM202 Lap Set-699 set/(1)/30253-00 Lap Set-207 piece set/(1)/30254-00 Lap Rack/(1)/4410-01 SGX Vacuum Unit/(1)/264171 SGX Vacuum Unit Cab/(1)/267444 Kappa Edger/(1)/4M10185 Products listed above must be able to interact with the current system on the following system processes: 1. CC Systems software is able to communicate with the existing Gerber Innovations software for calculations. 2. Washers are able to clean both lenses and surface blocks to remover Free-bond. 3. Generator is compatible with existing Gerber Step-One Blocks currently in use. 4. Generator is a table top style unit capable of a range from +8.00 to -30.00 diopters. 5. Generator is able to cut disposable foam laps. 6. Edger connects directly to the Gerber Kappa Tracer/Blocker for communication of information that does not pass through CC Systems software. 7. Edger accepts existing finish blocks that are used for the Gerber Kappa. 8. Edger utilizes existing inventory of parts already purchased for maintenance of Gerber Kappa Edgers (i.e. finishing wheels, calibration tools). 9. Minimum warranty period is one (1) year.
