- The Broadcasting Board of Governors/International Broadcasting Bureau (BBG/IBB), Office of Contracts, Simplified Acquisition Branch (M/CON/SA) intends to award a sole source Purchase Order (Contract) under an approved Standardization Program to Motorola, USFGMD, 7031 Columbia Gateway Drive, 3rd Floor, Columbia, MD 21046 for the following items . Item 1. Motorola, VHF EX500, Model AAH38KDC9AA3NFD, Exportable Portable Radio (comes w/1320 mAH Li-ion 7.5V battery, 120V Rapid Rate Single Intelli-Charger), EX500 136-174 MHZ , 16 ch 1-5W 12.5/20/25 KHZ; Quantity 50 Each: Item 2. Model H65, ALT: Antenna VHF 150-161 MHZ Helical; Quantity 50 Each: Item 3. JMNN4023 R, Spare Battery; Quantity 50 Each: Item 4. EPNN5752, Euro Cord, 220V; Quantity 50 Each: Item 5. Motorola, UHF EX500, Model AAH38RDC9AA3NFD, Exportable Portable Radio (comes w/1320 mAH Li-ion 7.5V battery, 120V Rapid Rate Single Intelli-Charger) EX500 403-470 MHZ 16 CH 1-4W 12.5/20/25KHZ, UHF comes w/standard UHF Whip Antenna; Quantity 30 Each: Item 6. Model JMNN4023R, Spare Battery; Quantity 30 Each: Item 7. Model EPNN5752, Euro Cord, 220V. "The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition applicable to this procurement is FAR Subpart 6.302-1, 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1), which permits other than full and open competition "When the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source." Motorola, USFGMD is the only vendor which can provide the required equipment that is compatible with existing operational studio equipment, and no other supplies will satisfy IBB requirements. This equipment is only available through Motorola, USFGMD and is not available through other dealers or distributors. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive price quotations. Interested firms or persons, may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government must receive all such statements of interest and capability by close of business 4 PM EST, Tuesday, June 15, 2004 and shall reference RFQ No. CON-04-0018 to be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order (contract) based upon responses to this Notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any information received from interested firms/persons responding to this notice will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
