Description
NA The US Army CECOM, Project Manager Night Vision/Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition, Fort Belvoir VA is issuing a Sources Sought for Drivers Vision Enhancers (DVE) Vehicle Mounting Hardware Assemblies as outlined below. The Government is s eeking information from industry to determine industry capability to fabricate and produce DVE Vehicle Mounting Hardware Assemblies. The Government is contemplating issuing a solicitation within the next 60 days for production and test of the DVE Vehicle Mounting Hardware Assemblies (known as the DVE A-Kit). The intent of the Government is to award one contract for qualification and production of DVE A-Kits that meet system level requirements in Performance Specification, Driver’s Vision Enhacer (DVE), MIL-PRF-49256B (CR). The contract will be firm-fixed -price (FFP) three-year, multi-year procurement, with options available in each program year, plus one additional option year, for a total contract period of four years (FY04-07). Potential total contract value is in excess of $20M. System Description: The DVE system is defined by A-Kits and B-Kits. The B-Kit is comprised of a Sensor Module and Display Control Module. The A-Kit is the Vehicle Mounting Hardware Assembly for each vehicle type (both Tactical Wheeled Vehicles (TWV) and Combat Vehicles (CV)). The A-kit provides the mounting hardware and cables required to integrate the DVE B-Kit into the host vehicles listed in the, Performance Specification, Driver’s Vision Enhancer (DVE), MIL-PRF-49256B (CR). This Specification a nd Interface Control Drawings are available through the CECOM Acquisition Center Web page or through the Contracting Officer. Scope of Information Sought: Request that interested contractors provide the following information in response to this sources sought announcement: 1)A summary of capabilities associated with the scope of this effort including facilities, tooling, and key personnel. 2)A summary of relevant current and previous experience in production and test of similar systems for the Department of Defense. Include customer points of contact. 3)A rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimate and associated rationale for the unit production cost/price of each of the A-Kits listed on the Army Business Opportunities Page (IBOP). The DVE A-Kit Technical Data Package and summary of projected quantity requirements are available on the IBOP under DVE A-Kit. The United States Army Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) has established the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) Intera ctive Business Opportunities Page (IBOP) to provide electronic transmittal of RFP from the Government to Industry. All interested parties wishing to do business with CECOM are encouraged to register as a user well in advance of the anticipated RFP issuanc e and to check the IBOP frequently for updates. To become a user of the IBOP you will need a User Identification and Password in addition to a computer terminal equipped with the necessary hardware and software to interface with the IBOP system.
