- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Philadelphia intends to procure Split Housing Hydro-Load Seal Assembly for FFG Gearbox, Manufacturing Drawing SSCY13251, Revision F for the Perry Class Main Reduction Gear (MRG) input shafts. A quantity of eight seals is required to be delivered by 29 October 2004. The seals are needed to correct severe leakage problems that currently exist throughout thi s ship class. Installation of the seal assemblies is scheduled to begin 15 November 2004. The NAICS classification for this acquisition is 424690 with a size standard of 500 employees. The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Stein Seal Company, Government Sales, 1500 Industrial Boulevard, Kuplsville, PA 19443-0316, under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However all proposals received within thirty days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract bas ed upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
