- The Government intends to award a contract in accordance with the Terms and Conditions at FAR Part 52.212-5 and the following descriptions: Under this request for proposal the landfill shall dispose of approximately 1,452 tons of debris, predominatel y creosote wood timbers, that have been collected from Southeast Louisiana waterways and tributaries and are temporarily stored on seven river barges. The barges are currently located near Bayou Boeuff Lock in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana near Morgan City. The landfill is required to be located in Southeast Louisiana and in a reasonable proximity (not more than 300 miles) to the current location of the barges. Under the current plan, the barges shall be delivered to a State of Louisiana Type I Landfill. A ll fleeting and waterway transport shall be performed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District,USACE-NOD, Operations Division using government owned/operated marine vessels. Solicitation # W912P8-04-R-0010 for this action has been canceled. The new Solicitation # is W912P8-04-R-0024. The anticipated performance period is 21 June 2004 through 30 September 2004. The NAICS code for this requirement is 562212. The solicitation anticipated release date is 7 June 2004 with a closing time and dat e of 12:00 noon local time on 14 June 2004. All offers that exceed the amount of $100,000 will be deemed not acceptable. The Contract Specialist for this requirement is Ms. Nora Cherry, 504-862-1998. The Request for Proposals (RFP) and all information per taining to this acquisition will be made available electronically through the Federal Business Opportunities electronic posting system web link at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is and will continue to be all potential offerors responsibility to monitor th e fedbizopps website for any amendments, updates, responses to questions and answers as the government will not be maintaining a mailing list. It is incumbent upon all potential offerors to download from the fedbizopps website or request an electronic cop y of the information by e-mailing Nora.L.Cherry@mvn02.usace.army.mil or by faxing request to 504-862-2892.
