- PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Contractor shall furnish all materials, supervision, transportation, personnel, tools, supplies, equipment and incidentals necessary to rehabilitate Chilhowee Recreation Area Campground Loops C, D, E and F, Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee. The contract includes the following work at the campground sites: demolition and removal of existing Loop C toilet building and the construction of an approx. 950 sq ft. bathhouse and a septic drainfield; rehab of 34 campsites requiring excavation/fill for enlargement of sites; installation of approx. 8,000 LF 6?x 6? timber borders and several 6?x 6? low timber walls; grading; compacting #10 and #24 stone for pads surfaces; removal of old picnic tables, old fire rings, and old lamp posts and replacement with new government furnished equipment. Includes the installation of approx. 1,000 L.F. of 1.5" dia. PVC conduit for installation of approx. 3,500 L.F. of electrical conductors (#8 to 3/0) and installation/connection of 11 govt. furnished electrical RV pedestals and 450 LF of 15?pipe. Contract Time: 200 days from issuance of Notice to Proceed. ESTIMATED PRICE RANGE: Between $500,000 and $1,000,000. PROJECT LOCATION: Cherokee National Forest, Ocoee/Hiwassee Ranger District, Polk County, TN. From Cleveland, TN. take Hwy. 64 east for 14 miles to Parksville Lake on the Cherokee N.F. Continue on Hwy. 64 along the lake for approximately 2-3 miles. The Ocoee Ranger Station is on the left. Take the first road left past the Ranger Station at the sign, ?Chilhowee Campground? on Forest Road #77. Continue up the paved mountain road for approx. 7 miles to Chilhowee Campground entrance on the right. Loops C, D, E, and F are behind the second gated road that will be on the left another 1/2 mile. SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS: The solicitation, IFB R8 04-04-23, and related documents will be issued via FedBizOpps as an Invitation for Bid and will be available for downloading on or about May 27, 2004 at the website address: http://www.fedbizopps.gov A Pre-Bid Meeting date will be included in the solicitation. All vendors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database (CCR) prior to award of a Federal contract. Registration may be completed on the internet at http://www.ccr.gov/ A handbook and other information are available at the site, including information on how to obtain a DUNS number, which is required to begin the registration process.
