- This will be a 5-Year FFP Requirements Type Contract for 100 Diesel Engines a year for 5 years. The vehicle application is the Rough Terrain Material Handling Equipment Forklift. What is required is a new engine, in yearly lots of 100, with a modif ication kit, wherein the soldier at the depot can take the old, unuseable engine out and put the new one in. There shall be ZERO to LITTLE configuration changes. . The POC is Jeff H. Heinfling cand can be reached at by e-mail at heinflij@tacom.army.mil. The NSN is currently 0000-00-000-0000 since this will be an engine with a modification kit. An NSN will be assigned before award. A National Security Exemption from EPA is required because these engines must be non-compliant. Tier TWO engines (EPA com pliant) will require far too many configuration changes. Details about the engine: A capcity for lifting 4,000 pounds using the Rough terrain forklift. THE ORIGINAL ENGINE, NSN 2815-01-109-7969 is a 1.1 case model (G207D. part number A154661. It is a 4 cylinder diesel, 60 max BHP at 2200 RPM, 55 SAE net BHP at 2200 RPM, equipped with a 24 volt 40 AMP alternator. THE REPLACEMENT ENGINE SHALL be compatible with JP8 Fuel. The Forklift is equipped with a 3 speed powershift transmission, Spicer (Clark-Hurt h) Model 1 1.2HR18340-1, Clark part number 286233, NSN 2520-01-105-7088. Technical manuals for the Forklift can be viewed at the following website: http://www.logsa.army.mil/etms/find_etm.cfm. The engine is shown in the parts manual 10-3930-638-24P, fig ure 1, item 11. The transmission is shown in the parts manual, figue 47, item 3. The operator's manula is TM-10-3930-638-10.
