- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document, incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 97-20. The solicitation number is for FD 2030-04-52720. The solicitation is a request for quotation (RFQ). Closing date for quotations will be received at the issuing office until 3:00 PM on 18 June 2004. Source(s) is/are (Cage 99207) General Electric Company, 1000 Western Avenue, Lynn, MA 01910; (Cage 21335)Torrington Company, 59 Field Street, Torrington, CT 06790; (Cage 78118) Timken Aerospace, 336 Mechanic Street, Lebanon, NH 03766. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 336412. This is a requirement for Line Item 0001: NSN: 3110-01-053-8959OK. Noun: BEARING BALL, ANNULA. Form/Fit/Function: This is the #2 engine bearing for the J-85 Engine. It supports the rear compressor drive shaft and front of the turbine. It is the only ball bearing in the engine and is used to control thrust loads on the compressor/ turbine. Predominate Material: 850TF103 Steel. Qty: 91 ea; P/N: 5040T17P01. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: DWG 5040T17 is a source control item. Only the source(s) listed on the GE approved parts list are approved suppliers. Items shall be inspected by contractor for conformance to 100% of dimensions of drawing at the contractor?s facility and witnessed by a government quality representative (QAR). Failure of this item can cause unsafe and unreliable performance of the J-85 engine. Place of delivery and acceptance is: Tinker AFB OK (FB2039). Required delivery schedules are as follows: 20 ea per month beginning October 2004. Qualification Requirements: Sources must be qualified prior to being considered for award.
