- SOURCES SOUGHT -- This is not a Request for Proposals or an Invitation for Bids. The Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service is seeking qualified Small Businesses, Small Disadvantaged Businesses, HUBZone Certified, 8(a) and/or Native American Enterprise construction contractors to construct Phase 1 of the Pacific Basin Agricultural Research Center (PBARC), to be located in Hilo, Hawaii. Phase 1 will consist of a one-story mezzanine laboratory building, which is approximately 30,000 sf. including service mezzanine and a one-story mechanical building, which is approximately 2,600 sf., consisting of cast-in-place concrete, concrete unit masonry, structural steel framing, metal decking, direct applied exterior finish system, PVC and modified bituminous membrane roofing, steel and wood doors, aluminum windows, gypsum board, ceramic tile, acoustical ceilings, resilient flooring, carpet, laboratory equipment and casework, vertical blinds, mechanical and electrical systems, site work, landscaping and incidental related work. The magnitude of the project is between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000. The NAICS Code is 236220 and the Size Standard is $28.5 Million. Project No.: 98-8284-01. The project site is located at Nowelo Road, Hilo, Hawaii. Qualified contractors, who are interested in participating in the upcoming solicitation, must provide to the Contracting Officer their qualifications statement. This statement shall: 1) demonstrate the financial responsibility; 2) demonstrate they have sufficient bonding capacity; 3) demonstrate corporate experience with contracts of similar size and scope to this project; 4) indicate Small Business Administration Certification(s).
