Description
NSN: 4720-01-445-3651, Hose Assembly, Mask: M45 (Part Number 5-1-2756-20) and NSN: 4720-01-515-9261, Hose Assembly, Mask: M42A2 (Part Number 5-1-2756-30) requirements are being solicited. The M45 Mask Hose Assembly and the M42A2 Mask Hose Assembly a re identical except for the M45’s nylon strap assembly. These hose assemblies are life support items allowing the C2/C2A1 canister, which filters the air to the mask user, to be worn away from the mask facepiece. The hose assembly includes the ribbed hose itself, which is made of EPDM rubber and is approximately 24 inches in length and 1.2 inches in diameter. At each end of the hose are molded nylon plastic threaded connectors that are secured to the hose via meta l clamps. Each attached clamp is subsequently covered/protected with a heat shrink polyolefin electrical insulation sleeve. One end of the hose attaches via the female threaded connector to the canister and the other male threaded connector end of the h ose attaches to the sideport opening of the mask facepiece. The hose component is required to pass leakage testing and the hose material is required to pass first article agent permeation testing. Both hose assemblies require an EPDM rubber port gasket. The M45 Mask Hose assembly requires a nylon strap assembly, with slide and buckle. This solicitation is issued as a five year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity with a guaranteed minimum quantity of 2,000 each M42A2 Hose Assemblies. Planned release date of the solicitation is 15 June 2004. The government may order up to a maximu m quantity of 200,000 M42A2 Hoses and 15,000 M45 Hoses. The M42A1 estimated requirements are FY05 14,000; FY06 7,000; FY07 11,397; FY08 7,600; and FY09 7,600. The M45 estimated requirements are FY05 827; FY06 831; FY07 0; FY08 1,267 and FY09 0. First Ar ticle Testing is required, but may be waived. FOB is destination. All or part of this action is currently unfunded. The solicitation is unrestricted and will result in a firm fixed price contract. This is a best value procurement, and past performance and technical factors will be evaluated along with price. This solicitation will be issued electronically.
