- Fed BizOpps PART: 99: - SPECIAL NOTICES OFFADD: National Park Service, Pacific West Region - Oakland, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607, Attn: PWR-OC SUBJECT: PROSPECTUS FOR A CONCESSION CONTRACT FOR OPERATION OF LODGING, FOOD SERVICE AND GIFT SALES, HOT SPRINGS AND POOLS, AND RECREATIONAL VEHICLE CAMPGROUND WITHIN OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK DESC: The National Park Service intends to issue a Prospectus for the operation of Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort within Olympic National Park. The resort is open from mid-May through the end of September, with limited services available in April and October. This business opportunity includes concessioner and government-owned assigned facilities within the park. Any Offeror that is selected as the new concessioner is obliged to purchase the possessory interest, personal property, and inventory utilized by the existing concessioner in its operations. This amount is estimated to total $1,225,096. In addition, the new concessioner will be required to complete a Concessions Facilities Improvement Program in the amount of $727,073. The existing concession contract between the National Park Service and the existing concessioner expires on December 31, 2004. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that the existing concessioner is not a preferred Offeror for this contract. One contract will be issued for this commercial service. The length of the new contract will be for ten (10) years. Any offer, including that of the existing concessioner, must be received by the Chief of Concessions, National Park Service, Pacific West Region, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607 no later than one hundred ten (110) days after the date of publication of this notice in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a concession contract to provide services at Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort in Olympic National Park. The Prospectus will be issued May 28, 2004, for a 110-day response period under the terms described in the Prospectus, with proposals due on September 14, 2004, no later than 4:00 p.m. There is a printing cost recovery charge of $50 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $40 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; you must include a business address (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express package.
