DRAFT SYNOPSIS SOLICITATION NUMBER: ITEM: Conversion Kit, M17 Engine for SBCCOM Decontamination Units Description: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE. THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO SOLICIT/NEGOTIATE/AWARD ON A SOLE SOURCE BASIS WITH AMW CUYUNA ENGINE CO., INC., BEAUFORT, SC, UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF FAR 6.302. The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Com mand - TACOM - intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract for the procurement of manufacturing technology for the production of M17 Engine Conversion Kits for the maintenance and refurnishing of specialized decontamination units to AMW Cuyuna under the a uthority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Service Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The manufacturing technology will include detailed parts listings and nomenclature as well as support documents and controlled drawings of component parts and the fully assembled M17 Engine Conversion Kits, NSN 2805014309187, PN 5458231. This data package will provide insight into the production of the M17 Engine Conversion Kits, the tooling and component requirements, performance specific ations, and inspection and quality parameters. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals and no solicitations will be forthcoming. Interested parties may identify their interest in writing and must provide evidence that they have succesfully man ufactured the M17 Engine Conversion Kit to meet the needs of the requirement. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract is solely at the discretion of the government. All responses must be received by COB June 01, 2004. If no responses are received by this date, a sole source contract with AMW Cuyuna will be pursued.
