Description
Presolicitation Notice - - The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, Texas, intends to issue IFB-40020-0062 for the project entitled ?Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) Abatement? at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Englewood located in Littleton, Colorado. The Contracting Officer anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract. The resultant solicitation will contain a base bid and three add alternates. In the base bid, the successful contractor will be required to remove ACM in various locations from the basement utility tunnels. In the first add alternate, the successful contractor will be required to re-insulate various pipe, fittings, and tank body in the basement utility tunnels. In the second add alternate, the successful contractor will remove asbestos containing soil at the Food Service tunnel area; near the entrance area to the utility tunnels from the Power House; and near the Safety Storage area. In the third add alternate, the successful contractor will install Ethylene Propylene Diene terpolymer Membrane (EPDM) over the contaminated soil in the basement utility tunnels at the Food Service tunnel area; near the entrance area to the utility tunnels from the Power House; and near the Safety Storage area. The magnitude of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The solicitation will be available on/about June 22, 2004 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides downloading instructions to obtain all documents relating to this solicitation. All future information concerning this acquisition, including the solicitation and any subsequent amendments, will be distributed solely through the website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the website to ensure they have the most current information about the acquisition. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. The opening date/time for invitation for bids is on/about July 22, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. MDT, at FCI Englewood. This is a 100% small business set-aside. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit offers/bids equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. Numbered Note 1 applies.
