Subject: PM Force Protection Systems (FPS) Electro-Optics Industry Day Reference Number: M67854-FPS-ID-04-0001 Description The United States Marine Corps (USMC), Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) PM Force Protection Systems Target Acquisition Systems is sponsoring an Industry Day to be held 21-22 July 2004, at the Clubs of Quantico. The Program Manager FPS and Target Acquisition Systems Team Leader will present a brief on the Marine Corps? Optics Technology Roadmap and current and future programs to all interested parties the morning of 21 July 2004. The period of 1200, 21 July through 2200, 22 July is reserved for Industry responses and product live fire and field demonstrations. The proposed agenda is provided below. Please respond to the Contracting Officer, Major Hollen at hollenra@mcsc.usmc.mil with names of attendees and desired primary and alternate briefing and demonstration times. Briefing and demonstration times will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Vendors will be allotted one fifty-minute time block for briefs and one thirty-minute time block for field demonstrations. Vendors should tailor their briefs and product demonstrations toward individual hand-held, helmet, and small-arms mounted systems. Target Acquisition Systems is interested in current and future material solutions that will satisfy day/night/reduced visibility optical requirements over the next ten years, to include image intensifier, thermal imagers, fused technology, and short wave infra-red. All briefs shall be unclassified. Companies may sign up only to brief technology and future products if there are no prototypes or products ready to demonstrate. Catto, 0900-0930: Force Protection Systems Program by Ms. Jean Beal, 0930-1030: Target Acq Systems Roadmap by Maj Chris Woodburn, 1030-1200: Lunch at The Clubs at Quantico, 1200-1700: Industry Briefs (TBD), 1700-1800: Dinner at individual discretion, 1800-1830: Travel to Ranges, 1830-2200: Industry Live Fire and Field Demonstrations.... AGENDA FOR 22 July 2004: 0800-1200: Industry Briefs (TBD), 1200-1300: Lunch at individual discretion, 1300-1700: Industry Briefs (TBD), 1700-1800: Dinner at individual discretion, 1800-1830: Travel to Ranges, 1830-2200: Industry Live Fire and Field Demonstration.... The period of 1200, 21 July through 2300, 22 July is reserved for individual contractors to privately brief a Marine Corps panel on their approaches, strategies, questions, and concerns on how they intend to provide support for ground based, man-portable/small-arms mounted, electro-optic target acquisition systems. Briefs concerning airborne, vehicle-mounted systems, or systems not relevant to infantry missions will not be entertained. The Marine Corps Panel will consist of representatives from MARCORSYSCOM, Marine Corps Combat Development Command (MCCDC), Marine Corps Test and Evaluation Activity (MCOTEA), and Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC). The panel will only address issues regarding requirements clarifications. That information may be incorporated into any future solicitations.
