Description
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), National Earthquake Information Center (NEIC), has a requirement to produce enhancements to the NEIC processing system, based on the existing USGS Earthworm Architecture. The USGS NEIC staff requires assistance in development of real-time seismic processing modules and support for the regional networks. The following qualifications are considered essential to this requirement: 1) Experience in developing real-time seismic (earthquake) algorithms and installing systems in volcano seismic networks; 2) Programming experience in C and development under the MS Windows 2000 and Solaris operating systems; 3) Experience in scientific programming, with background in science and mathematics; 4) Experience with design and implementation of seismic algorithms as real-time processing modules; 5) Strong analytical and software development skills; and 6) Knowledge and experience working with NEIC system architecture. In addition, contractor shall be required to periodically attend design meetings at the USGS NEIC in Golden, Colorado. Performance period shall be from date of award through December 30, 2004. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. 04CRQQ0170 can be found at the following web address: http://ideasec.nbc.gov/ecprod/owa/ecmenu$.firstcount/. Telephone requests for the RFQ will not be accepted. It is anticipated the RFQ will be available on or after May 20, 2004. This is a small business set-aside. See Note 1.
