Description

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 7 (Alaska) intends to award a sole source procurement to The State of Alaska Department of Fish and Game to collect fin clippings from drainages near Norton and Kotzebue Sounds, and from the areas near Goodnews, Kanetok, George, Kogrukluk, Tatlwiksuk, and Takotna rivers. Fin clippings will be taken from two species of fish: Dolly Varden and Coho Salmon. The Alska Department of Fish and Game will collect the fin clippings, perform analysis, and forward them to biologists located at the Regional office of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for further study. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game will oversee the collection and assist in writting three (3) progress reports due December 31, 2004, 2005, and 2006 for clippings taken from Dolly Varden from the Norton and Kotzebue Sound areas, with a final report due April 30, 2007. The Department will also assist in preparation of a progress report due for the remaining areas for Coho Salmon due December 31, 2004 and provide a final written report June 30, 2005. This notice of intent is not a request fo competitive proposals and the Government does not intend to accept proposals received. Award will be made 15 days after publication of this notice.
