- The 375th Contracting Squadron, Scott AFB IL, intends to award a sole source requirement for renewal of the on-line subscription of Congressional Quarterly, for 1 Aug 2004 through 31 Jul 2005 from its manufacturer, Congressional Quarterly, Inc. This on-line service consists of a) Comprehensive News Coverage of Congress b) Reliable Searching for Legislative and Committee Reports c) Detailed Chronologies of Bill Actions d) Immediate Access to Hearing Transcripts e) Exclusive Member Profiles f) Cross-Source Searching g) Instant E-mail Alerts h) Committee Markup Coverage and i) Customer Support and Training. This on-line service enables USTRANSCOM to have access to the required information to support CDR USTRANSCOM and USTRANSCOM. A majority of the war fighting Combatant Commanders legislative affairs offices use Congressional Quarterly to track legislation and receive defense-related hearing transcripts, to include the Joint Chiefs of Staff. A subscription to Congressional Quarterly gives USTRANSCOM access to nearly all defense-related hearing transcripts, reports, and legislation in a timely manner. Congressional Quarterly notifies customers, on a daily basis, or even three times a day, if the customer requests it, updates on issues the House and Senate are working. Congressional Quarterly contacts every committee every day to provide the most detailed listings on all scheduled floor, committee and subcommittee action. Includes dates, times, locations, agendas, contact information and witnesses. Congressional Quarterly, with 48 hours minimum notice, will cover a defense hearing upon subscriber request; thus, allowing USTRANSCOM to cover all issues that impact and affect mission requirements. The service is critical in preparing CDR USTRANSCOM for congressional office calls and hearings.
