Description

This is a combined/synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; and a written solicitation will not be issued. This RFQ is issued under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) is 333512 and Business Size Standard is 500 employees. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a one-time, sole-source, firm-fixed price contract, with Price Equipment Company, 512 North Johnson Street, Monroe, North Carolina under Request for Quotation (RFQ) 128659. Price Equipment Company is to provide the FBI with; 1) one Romi M20x60 Combination Lathe; 2) one X33240-D1-8? Spindle; 3) one PB651008-Pratt Burnerd 10? Chuck for D1-8 Spindle; 4) one SD40CARS-Dorian Tool Post Kit with Block; 5) one X332331-Duplomatic 8-Station Turret; 6) one X333259-Rear Mounted Tool Holder with T-Slot Base; 7) one X32924-Steady Rest (closed) with bronze tips, 5/16? to 6? dia; 8) one X33266-Set of Rollers for closed Steady Rest 3 1/8? to 6? dia; 9) one X33354-Electrical Transformer, 208V, 3 Phase, 60 HZ; 10) one R89194-Extended Part Program Edit; 11) one R97069-Thread Cutting Retract; 12) one R89192-Part Program Storage 320 m; 13) an Extra 8-Station Turret Disk for Duplomatic Automatic Turret; 14) Programming Training Class for 3 FBI employees; and 15) Hands-On Training Class for 3 FBI employees. Based on Market Research via the FEDBIZOPPS and the World Wide Web sites, it has been determined that the FBI?s requirement for the Romi Model M20x60 Combination Lathe can only be provided by Price Equipment Company. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals to this office by 2:00 PM, EDT, Friday, June 11, 2004 via facsimile to the attention of Mr. Bryan V. Lane, Contracting Officer, at (703) 632-1844. The Delivery of the items shall be FOB Destination to the FBI Academy, Quantico, Virginia, 22135. Quotes must be clearly marked with RFQ-128659. Quotes shall be all inclusive. Information received by June 11, 2004 will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for any information received. To ensure that sufficient information is available, the vendor must furnish as part of his/her quotation all descriptive material (such as cuts, illustrations, drawings, or other information) necessary for the purchasing activity to determine whether the proposed product meets the minimum salient characteristics. The purchasing activity is not responsible for locating or securing any information which is not identified in the quotation and reasonable available to the purchasing activity. Bidders are hereby notified that if your quote is not received by the date/time and location specified in this announcement, it will not be considered. Offerors responding to this solicitation must provide their Dun & Bradstreet, Central Contractor Registration (see FAR Clause 52.204-7), and Tax Identification numbers.
