- PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The RENOVATION OF BRASSTOWN BALD VISITOR CENTER includes replacing the existing roofing systems with new roofs. New roofs shall be membrane in some areas and copper standing seam in another. Some existing parapet wall caps will be repaired and covered with a sand paint. In other areas, the parapet wall caps will be covered with a metal cap. Wood decks, gutters, downspouts, building lightning protection system and roof scuppers shall be replaced. Roof heights vary from 15 to 65 feet above surrounding grade. Work shall be completed in three separate phases to allow public to visit part of the Visitor Center during construction period. The site is the highest point in the State of Georgia and is somewhat remote. PROJECT LOCATION: This project is located on the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, Brasstown Ranger District, Union County, Georgia. SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS, SPECIFICATIONS, AND DRAWINGS: The solicitation, SAZ-03-04-22 will be issued via FedBizOpps, as a request for quotes and will be available for downloading on or about June 2, 2004 at the website address: http://www.fedbizopps.gov/
