Description
The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with Northrop Grumman Information and Technology (NGIT), 7501 Greenway Center Drive, Greenbelt, MD 20770 pursuant to FAR 6.302 to modify the existing BMC Enterprise License Agreement (NGIT): (1) to increase the MIPS ceiling from 9,000 to 20,000 MIPS on the listed BMC software licenses; and (2) to extend the BMC Enterprise License by 1-year to November 30, 2008. The following BMC software licenses are utilized throughout the Agency: Control-M, Control-R, Control-B, and Control-M/Essentials are used as scheduling and restart tool across SSA?s sysplex. This software automates the tasks of job control language setup, job scheduling and execution, processing analysis, problem resolution, and workload optimization and recovery processing. Mainview Predict, Mainview Visualizer and Mainview Application Analysis are used as an analytical modeling package designed for Multiple Virtual Storage (MVS) processing centers. They are used to create a single model of multiple MVS images that show the effects of shared central processing units and direct access storage devices (DASD) on SSA's sysplex environment. Super Optimizer is used to reduce the length of outbound and inbound data streams from 3270 terminals and systems network architecture (SNA) character streams. It reduces the data stream length and analyzes the data stream for both application and hardware errors. It traces 3270 CICS data streams according to user specified criteria. MainView-SRM is used to manage application performance across SSA?s sysplex configuration. Mainview-SRM provides management solutions for distributed systems storage that include auto discovery and auto mapping of storage objects and their relationship to an application. Mainview-SRM consists of seven products that provide the following functions: SRM-Auto provides threshold-based generation. SRM-SG-Control provides dynamic budget control by application. SRM-Storage Guard provides comprehensive space and performance reporting. SRM-STOP X37/II provides dynamic abend prevention and recovery. SRM-Easy SMS provides Data Facility Systems Managed Storage (DFSMS) implementation and management enhancements. SRM-Easy HSM provides DFSM HSM assists and optimization. SRM-Enterprise Storage provides data storage across different platform types using different protocols concurrently. SRM-Easy Pool is a data storage management tool. Patrol for AS/400 is used to monitor measure and report on the capacity and performance of the AS/400 platforms installed a t Disability Determination Services offices. Patrol for UNIX is used to monitor, measure and report on the capacity and performance of UNIX servers located at Headquarters and Regional Office Communication Centers. These BMC software tools have been determined to be the only products that will satisfy the requirements of the Agency. NGTI is BMC?s authorized GSA reseller of these proprietary software tools and maintenance. Note: 22 ? this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any written responses received must contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
