Description
The U.S. Geological Survey intends to award a sole source, non-competitive procurement to Monitron Corporation, Sandsprings, OK for the upgrade of the Seismic network data radio system, which has been mandated by the Federal Communications Commission by January 2005. This non- competitive procurement is in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 based on special specifications of the required upgrades and is being conducted under FAR Part 12. The USGS has been using VHF and UHF radios manufactured by Monitron for telemetering seismic data from remote unattended field locations to telephone drops, microwave radio sites and data processing centers for scientific purposes. The minimum requirements for the FM/PM VHF Transmitters (Quantity 325), FM/PM VHF High Selectivity Receivers (Quantity 511), FM/PM UHF Transmitters (Quantity 100), and FM/PM UHF High Selectivity Receivers (Quantity 278) are as follows: VHF low power consumption analog telemetry transmitters and receivers: Transmitter Power Output-100mw, Frequency Range-162-174MHz., Modulation Type-FM/PM, Channel Spacing-12.5KHz, Frequency Stability-.0005%. UHF low power consumption analog telemetry transmitters and receivers: Transmitter Power Output-100mw, Frequency Range-406-420MHz., Modulation Type-FM/PM, Channel Spacing-12.5KHz, Frequency Stability-.0005%. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. NAICS Code is 334220. No additional synopsis will be published. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within the due date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
