Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 4 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR STARDUST CLEANROOM - RFO# NNJ04060551Q: Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to the combined synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to address the following questions and associated answers. Questions and answers regarding the RFO# NNJ04060551Q are also posted on the Stardust Cleanroom Acquisition Website and can be located by accessing http://jsc-web-pub.jsc.nasa.gov/bd01/scr/default.asp Questions and answers are numbered sequentially and are in congruence with the "Questions and Answers" posted on NAIS and the Stardust Cleanroom Acquistion Website. Question 5: Item 14 of the Statement of Work (SOW) mentions unistrut support being provided by the ?Construction Contractor.? The vendor will need to coordinate with the ?Construction Contractor? to make sure the support structure lines up with the cleanroom. Will this coordination be feasible? Answer to Question 5: Yes. After contract award, the cleanroom vendor will be able to work directly with the ?Construction Contractor? on this issue. Question 6: Item 16 of the SOW calls for fluorescent lighting. Typically fluorescent lighting is not dimmable. Would other types of lighting be acceptable? Answer to Question 6: Inadvertently, item 16 of the Statement of Work (SOW) included "fluorescent lighting? as a requirement for the Stardust Cleanroom. To clarify, the lights must be cleanroom compatible and meet the illumination requirement in the SOW. Dimmable lighting is required. The Stardust Cleanroom SOW is revised to state the above. Question 7: Item 25 of the SOW discusses the lighting. If a switch will be required inside the cleanroom to operate the outer room lights, coordination will be required with the ?Construction Contractor.? Will this coordination be feasible? Answer to Question 7: Yes. After contract award, the cleanroom vendor will be able to work directly with the ?Construction Contractor? to discuss the lighting and power tie-ins. Question 8: The ?Construction Contractor?s? drawings show 277V panels. Typically our equipment runs on 120V. Is 277V equipment required? Answer to Question 8: 277V equipment is acceptable, but not required. Upon review of drawing GFD E-31-10, the ?Construction Contractor? will provide two new electrical panels. One panel will run on 480/277V and the other panel will run on 208/120V. After contract award, the cleanroom vendor will be able to discuss these electrical matters with the ?Construction Contractor? directly. Question 9: Coordination will also be necessary for tying in the smoke detection system required in item 26 of the SOW. Will the cleanroom vendor be able to coordinate on this matter with the ?Construction Contractor?? Answer to Question 9: Yes. After contract award, the cleanroom vendor will be able to discuss these matters with the ?Construction Contractor? directly. Question 10: Item 27 of the SOW states a temperature and humidity requirement. The SOW specifies a ?temperature sensor.? Does NASA require temperature control or a temperature monitor? Answer to Question 10: A temperature monitor. The cleanroom vendor is not responsible for temperature control. The ?Construction Contractor? will provide air to the space and is responsible for monitoring and controlling that. The cleanroom temperature sensor listed in the SOW is meant for monitoring only. Since the cleanroom is not connected to the facility HVAC system, the cleanroom vendor cannot provide temperature control. Question 11: The RFO requests material samples because NASA is concerned about the materials inside the lab. Are there any materials that I should avoid? Answer to Question 11: Avoid carbon steel because it is not a permitted material in any of the JSC curatorial cleanrooms. REMINDER TO ALL PROSPECTIVE OFFERORS: All contractual and technical questions MUST be in writing (e-mail or fax) to Seena K.
