- The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego (SSC-SD) intends to award a sole source contract to Video Display Corporation (VDC) of Cape Canaveral, Florida, under the authority of FAR 6.302 for the manufacture and delivery of approximately 22-25 COTS-based, fully ruggedized, large-screen video display projectors (?PT-563/UYQ Projection Plotting Unit?) suitable for use in shipboard mission-critical applications and approximately 33-38 supporting spare parts kits. VDC has proprietary rights to the manufacturing, tooling and data associated with the PT-563/UYQ. This will be a firm fixed price contract with estimated delivery dates from November 2004 to June 2005. The North American Industry Classification System code for this effort is 334310 and the small business size standard is 750. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by submitting an electronic capability statement not to exceed 5 pages. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by May 21, 2004 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
