Description
This is Amendment 0006 to COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION RFQ N00140-04-Q-1438 for the provision, installation, and testing of a turnkey video teleconferencing suite designed for boardroom application in a new facility under construction at the U. S. Joint Forces Command, Suffolk, VA. Questions applicable to this requirement are answered as follows: (Q1) With what type(s) of network(s) will the required video teleconferencing suite interface? (Q2) Will the required system(s) be connected to ISDN, BRI, or SECURE? (A1 & A2) As stated in the solicitation: ?supporting multiple networks - ISDN, BRI, IP (LAN), X.21, or V.35, automatically detecting whether the caller is making an IP or ISDN call; high bandwidth: 2Mbps ISDN/ 3Mbps IP?; (Q3) Will/should the required network interfacing necessitate providing NT1's (for BRI's), CSU/DSU(PRI), or V.35 cables (for dedicated circuits)? (A3) The contractor should be prepared to support cabling (up to 15 feet) for any of the specified networks, with no additional equipment required; (Q4) Is an existing system being replaced that would require deinstallation? (A4) No; (Q5) As the facility to be supported is still under construction, will the VTC connection lines be pre-installed to the room(s)? (A5) Yes; (Q6) Is a wireless remote control system, with a touch screen utilizing either RF (radio frequency) or IF (infrared) technology acceptable? (A6) No. The provision of a touch screen remote control device is unacceptable as subsequent control modifications require programming services. A simple wireless infrared remote control device is required; (Q7) In order to determine number and placement of microphones, what is the size of the room(s) where the systems will reside? (A7) See revision to solicitation below; (Q8) Is system maintenance part of the requirement? (A8) See revision to solicitation below; (Q9) Is system training part of the requirement? (A9) See revision to solicitation below. The solicitation is hereby revised to incorporate the following: (1) The quantity of systems required to create the solicited turnkey video teleconferencing suite are as follows: two {2} Tandberg Model Number 8000 or equal systems, including two monitors per system, slim-line stand, camera, wireless remote control, tracker, microphones, and integrated cabling, as previously specified, and one {1} additional Tandberg Codec, Model Number 6000 or equal, that is fully interchangeable with the Codec portions of the two Tandberg Model Number 8000 or equal systems and meeting all previously stated specifications for same, including the Natural Presenter Package, Multisite Software for Viewstation, AES encryption software, and 2 Mbps ISDN/3 Mbps IP upgrade; (2) Each of the required Tandberg Model Number 8000 or equal systems shall include three {3} free-standing high-output table-top microphones, as previously specified; (3) Upon the completion of the installation, testing, and turnkey turnover of the required video teleconferencing solution, the contractor shall provide maintenance of same for one {1} year to include the following: software upgrades providing new product features and enhancements, including e-mail notification and tools for easier, faster upgrade of the software; advanced parts replacement, dispatched to the Government on the same day ordered, up to 4:30 local time, for next business day delivery; help-desk technical assistance 24 hours per day, 7 days per week; and online Internet support; (4) Upon the completion of the installation, testing, and turnkey turnover of the required video teleconferencing solution, the contractor shall provide on-site user training for up to four {4} people, including equipment familiarization and hands-on operation, adjusted to meet participants? level of experience, and to include the following areas of instruction: product overview, effective video communication solutions, user interface, basic troubleshooting, video etiquette and user tips; and (5) Provision, installation, testing, and turnkey turnover of and training on the resultant video teleconferencing suite shall take place no later than June 11, 2004.
