Description
This requirement is for the design, procurement of hardware and installation services to increase the slewing drive speed of a 40-ton, general purpose, portal crane manufactured by Intercontinental Engineering Manufacturing Corporation, Kansas City, MO. The resulting contract will be firm fixed price. The modification work shall include, but not be limited to: (1) Provide a design for the modification of the hydraulic and electrical systems to increase the slewing drive speed in accordance with the solicitation?s technical statement of work (2) Remove two existing fixed displacement slewing drive hydraulic motors. (3) Provide and install two new variable displacement slewing drive hydraulic motors. (4) Provide and install new hydraulic and electrical componements as per the approved design. (5) Accomplish a no-load and a load test of the completed modifications prior to acceptance by the Government. The Invitation For Bid (IFB) for this project contains Contract Data Requirements Lists that describe the types of technical data required and its format. The IFB will also contain an experience clause that will require bidders to explain their experience in accomplishing work similar to the requirements of the IFB. The resulting contract awarded will be subject to the Service Contract Act. The IFB may be downloaded by visiting the electronic solicitation website at the following internet address (URL): http://www.esol.navfac.navy.mil/. Interested parties are highly encouraged to register at the website prior to downloading the solicitation. All offerors responding will be required to print, complete and return the necessary number of hard copies of the solicitation, including Section K and any other clauses or provisions required to be filled in by the bidder, as well as attachments along with their proposals. The crane will available for inspection on June 15 or 16, 2004 by the bidders at Yorktown Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown, VA. It is requested that bidders who intend to inspect the crane advise Jerry W McDurmon via e-mail jerry.mcdurmon@navy.mil no later than June 7, 2004.This is A SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE SOLICITATION.
