Description
Weapon Optic The U.S. Army Office of the Program Manager Soldier Weapons is interested in acquiring market information on a Weapon Optic system to be used for 5.56mm rifle weapon system and has the following characteristics: approximately 4x32 magnification capability, possesses Day/Night illumination capability (without use of batteries and is NRC exempt), has integral ballistic correction for range without external adjustment, incorporates an Anti Reflection Device, and a LASER Filter Unit or is compatible to be fitted with LASER eye protection filters/goggles and allows engagement out to 800 meters. The specification for the optical laser filter is Government classified at the SECRET level. A SECRET facility clearance will be required to manufacture these filters. The optic is mountable on MIL-STD-1913 rail system. Optic must be able to withstand the rigors of use in a military environment and must be currently in production. Please notify the Government if the product being offered is a commercially available or a non-developmental item. Proprietary and/or classified information will be protected if requested with submission. Interested firms should submit literature/brochures not exceeding twenty (20) pages describing their technical capabilities, item design details and operational characteristics, production capacity (monthly sustainable production rate, maximum production rate, and time frame for first and subsequent deliveries), location of manufacturing facilities, and unit production costs. This information may be mailed by June 18, 2004 to U.S. Army TACOM-Picatinny, Attn: AMSTA-AQ-APD, Bldg 10, John Rosamilia Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only, does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. The Government implies no intention or opportunity to acquire funding to support current or future development efforts. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted. Closing date should be the minimum that the FAR dictates
