- Description
- The Government has a requirement for professional Architect/Engineering Services, to provide design for Project 621-306 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home (Johnson City), TN 37684. The A/E shall provide all architectural and engineering services necessary to design a project for consolidating kitchens from Buildings 77 and 200 to the existing kitchen area of Building 160. Project design scope will consolidate all kitchen operations of the VA Mountain Home?s Nutrition and Food Services operation into Building 160 (first floor) involving 12,500 SF of existing space, and 1200 SF of adjoining space. The new design should accommodate the service of approximately 1450 meals per day and shall be based on a ?Kitchenless Kitchen? concept. The A/E will provide and include the services of a specialized Kitchen Design Consultant in their design team. Work includes preliminary and final contract drawings, cost estimates, specifications, and construction period services. Designs shall be in accordance with all applicable requirements of NFPA, National Electrical Code, Life Safety Code, OSHA, VA Specifications, VA Standard details, VA Construction Standards, AIA and applicable local, state and federal regulations. This is 100% set-aside for small businesses only. The NAICS Code is 541310 with the small business size standard of $4.0 million. Construction cost estimate is between $2,000,000 and 5,000,000. Award will be to the A/E firm judged by the VA to be the best qualified for the work. All design criteria for the Veterans Affairs is available at www.va.gov/facmgt/. The selection criteria for this A/E contract shall include as a minimum (1) Experience in the type of work required (2) professional qualifications and experience of staff to be assigned to the project (3) ability to accomplish the work within required timeframes (4) past performance as related to the quality of work, meeting schedules, and keeping within scope and budget. (See numbered note 24) Area of consideration is limited to a 150-mile radius from the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home (Johnson City), TN 37684. Award is subject to the availability of funds. This is not a request for proposal. All interested, responsible and qualified business firms shall submit three (3) copies of SF 254 and SF 255 to the attention of Kerwin H. Fulton (90C) at the above address.
