- NA This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Solicitation No. DTRS57-04-Q-80106 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), FAR Part 13.5. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-22. The NAICS Code is 421430 and the Small Business size standard is 100 Emp. This solicitation is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Governmen t intends to award a Firm Fixed-Price Purchase Order and to solicit and negotiate on a competitive basis. The Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center) has a requirement to purchase an ISOC Data Center Qualstar Backup System Upgrade; this backup system consists of 2 sections. Section 1 is responsible for backing up the servers on the Volpe Internal Network Segments. Section 2 is responsible for backing up the servers on the Volpe Inservice Network Segment. Delivery of this backup system shall be FOB Destination within 30 days of award to U.S. Department of Transportation, Volpe Center, 125 Munroe Street, Receiving Dock, Cambridge, MA 02142, Attn: Joseph Monaghan, DTS-62. Proposals shall include pricing for the following items in a written quotation: CLIN 0001 ? Qual star, Model No. 900107, 4480 8mm Loader 4/40 barcode, Quantity 2 Ea; CLIN 0002 ? ADAPTEC, Model No. LVD/HVD/SE, SCSI Cable 68HD-68HDD-68H68H-10 foot, Quantity 6 Ea; CLIN 0005 ? Qualstar, Model No. 0S7-TLS3, 7x24 On-site IBM Service 44XX, Quantity 2 Ea; CLIN 0006 ? Qualstar, Model No. OS7-AIT3, 7x24 On-Site IBM Service AIT-3 Drive Quantity 6 Ea; CLIN 0007 ? Sony, Model No. SDX3-100C Tape Cartridges ? 8 mm Media AIT-3 100/260GB w/MIC, Quantity 160 Ea; CLIN 0008 ? On-site installation Tech Support, Quantity 32 HRs. The items cited above are for Brand Name only, equals will not be accepted. Solicitation provision F AR 52.212-1, Instruction of Offerors-Commercial Items (JAN 2004) is hereby incorporated by reference; the offer must include a copy of the standard commercial warranty per FAR Clause 52.212-1(b)(5), Terms of any Express Warranty. FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items, (JAN 1999): Award will be made based upon the best value to the Government. The Government will make one award resulting from this solicitation to the responsible Offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, considering price and delivery. All Offerors must include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items (JAN 2004) must be submitted with the offer. FAR Clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions ? Commercial Items, is hereby incorporated by reference (OCT 2003). FAR Clause 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items (APR 2004), is hereby incorporated by reference, additional clauses cited in 52.212-5 that apply to this acquisition are: 1, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 22, 23.
