Description

Ben Young Bottomless Arch ? 2004 This project consists of removing one large culvert (10? dia x 52? long pipe) filled half full of class IV riprap. This culvert will be replaced with a 9?-0? x 4?-8? x 54? long bottomless arch with concrete footings. Work includes finishing the disturbed roadbed with crushed aggregate and riprap placement between the footings, at the culvert inlets and outlets, and headwall placement on the fill slopes. All crushed aggregate and riprap is currently available in existing pits. From Lakeview ? proceed west on State Highway 140 for 3 miles. Turn right onto County road 2-16 and proceed north 5-1/2 miles to County road 2-16A. Turn left and proceed west and north-westerly 3 miles to Forest service Road 28 (paved). Continue straight ahead on road 28 north-westerly 17 miles to Forest Service Road 33 (paved). Turn right and proceed north-easterly for 2 miles to Forest Service Road 3510 (gravel). Turn on road 3510 and proceed south-easterly for 5 miles to Forest Service Road 3623. This road junction is the project site. The Government's estimate is between $25,000 and $100,000. This is a small business set-aside. Expected issue date is May 25, 2004.
