- Description
- The Okanogan and Wenatchee National Forest is seeking proposals for the reconstruction of 22.1 km of Forest Service recreation trail on the Cle Elum Ranger District, near Cle Elum, Washington. Work includes existing trail restoration, grade dips, switchbacks, waterbars, puncheon bridges, rock retaining walls and turnpikes. Wilderness rules apply except for the following tools which might be allowed: wheelbarrow and power rock drill. Blasting may be required. Contractor shall be licensed in State of Washington, Labor and Industries, to conduct blasting. The project can be reached from Cle Elum, Kittitas County, Washington, by heading west on I-90 for 31 miles to exit 53. Cross to southwest side of I-90 and turn right onto State Highway 906. Proceed along State Highway 906 for 1 mile to the Pacific Crest Trail parking area. Follow Pacific Crest Trail #2000 north for 7 miles to the beginning of project. Desired start work date is July 1, 2004, with all work completed by November 15, 2006 or within 850 calendar days. Work may be restricted to two months each year as a result of snow pack and other weather conditions. Estimated price range is between $100,000 to $250,000. 100% Performance and Payment Bonds due after award.
