Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will NOT be issued. This is request for quotations; RFQ-IBET-03-04-080. Quotations due date is MAY 19, 2004 by close of business. The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Regulations 2001-22. NAICS: 326199 ? Other Plastic Product Manufacturing with a size standard: 500 employees. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The following are the specifications: PLASTIC PALLETS ?SIZE ? 64 INCHES LONG AND 38 INCHES WIDE 5, or 5 1/2 inches total height of the pallet. A minimum of 3 1/2 inch opening for the forklift forks is required. The pallet is to be capable of holding a minimum of 1,000 lbs. Pallets may be manufactured either by an injection mould or by construction out of plastic lumber. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF AN ACCEPTABLE CONSTRUCTED PALLET, VARIATIONS IN CONSTRUCTION METHOD WILL BE CONSIDERED: 2-way, constructed of plastic lumber. Each pallet size shall be 64 inches long x 38 inches wide. Five (5) or 5 1/2 inches total height of the pallet, which is formed by the height of the top and bottom boards and the stringers. The stringers must create a 3 1/2 inch minimum opening for the forklift forks. Each pallet shall consist of 6 top boards and 2 bottom boards at the 64-inch length attached at right angles to the boards and between the top and bottom boards shall be 4 stringers, also of plastic lumber, each 38-inches in length. Boards shall be attached to the stringers with 2 metal Phillips Head screws at each place that a board passes over or under each stringer. Spacing between the stringers, center to center, shall be 16 inches, with the top and bottom boards overhanging the outermost strings by an equal distance.
