- AAC/EN and AAC/PK are hosting our 2nd Annual Govt/Industry Forum for all of the Eglin AFB acquisition community. This event is a training opportunity for both Govt and Industry. The forum will be held 25 May 04, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Eglin AFB Base Theater. The topic for this year's forum is the Unique Identification (UID) Program. UID is a mandatory DoD requirement for all solicitations issued by DoD on or after January 1, 2004. The UID policy is applicable to the unique identification of items purchased by DoD, including purchases initiated by DoD and executed through the General Services Administration (GSA) or other federal agency. The policy applies to: (1) All items for which the Government's unit acquisition cost is $5,000 or more; (2) Items for which the Government's unit acquisition cost is less than $5,000, when determined necessary by the requiring activity for serially managed, mission essential, or controlled inventory equipment, repairable items, or consumable items or material; and (3) Subassemblies, components, and parts embedded within an item identified on a Contract Data Requirements List or other exhibit. Our guest speakers will be Mr. Michael Wagner, HQ AFMC/DR-ACE and Mr. Mark Reboulet, AFMC/LSO-LOA. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to hear the latest on the UID policy and to understand some of the benefits and challenges of implementing this program.
