Description

Contractor shall provide all materials, tools , equipment, and labor necessary to completely replace the roofs on Buildings 1 & 28 at the VA Medical Center, St Cloud, Minnesota, as indicated on the drawings and specifications. The project will consist of demolition of existing roofing shingles, roofing felt, waterproof underlayment, metal valleys, drip edges, roofing vents, and one exhaust. Contractor is then to install complete new roof system which includes new waterproof underlayment, roofing felt, asphalt shingles, new flashing, new drip edges, new roofing ventilators, and reinstall existing exhaust fan in accordance with the plans and specifications. New roof construction shall be a complete GAF Roofing System installed only by GAF Master Elite Contractors and guaranteed by the GAF Golden Pledge Warranty. Contractors must obtain the GAF Master Elite Status prior to bid opening. GAF Master Elite Status will be verified prior to award. Electronic solicitation documents may be obtained FREE via the VA Business Opportunities website. Requests for hard copy solicitation documents must be in writing to the Contracting Officer and accompanied by a check for $25.00 made out to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Only 1 request for hard copies will be honored per contractor. No telephone or fax requests will be accepted. The drawings are in AutoCAD 2000 format. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will only be available on the VA Business Opportunities website. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to this solicitation. Issue date is May 7, 2004, Pre-Bid Conference is May 25, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Bid Opening June 22, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. The cost range is $350,000 to $450,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 235610. No electronic offers will be accepted. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
