- Description
- The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute intends to issued a non-competitive emergency purchase order to Biomerieux, Inc., 100 Rodolphe Street, Durham, N.C., 27704, for the purchase of a Vitek II Module XL, Product #530052-1. This unit is an emergency replacement of a water damage Vitek II module, which is beyond repair. The Vitek System generates identification and susceptibility data for bacterial cultures. It is a rapid identification system that is capable of producing rapid, same-day results. Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 334516 and the Size Standard is 500 employees for this requirement. This requirement is a small business set-aside. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures, and exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurement. Inquiries to this announcement, referencing synopsis number NHLBI-PS-2004-078 must be submitted in writing to National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, Contracts Operations Branch, Procurement Section, 6701 Rockledge Drive, Suite 6042, Bethesda, MD 20892-7902, Attention: Deborah Coulter. Fax quotations will only be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency.
