- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for the development of a vapor generation device based on ink-jet technology. NIST is required to investigate the feasibility of using this type of system for vapor metrology and, specifically, the field calibration of trace explosive vapor detectors. Upon acceptance of the device, NIST will characterize performance and design methods to provide measurement traceability to primary references. This requirement is being solicited as a full and open competitive acquisition and will be awarded via purchase order under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The contractor must have a proven record of reliability and experience in inkjet technology. The delivery date of the device shall be approximately 90 days after award, with a minimum one-year warranty. The internet address for downloading the solicitation is http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Any notification of changes to the solicitation, such as amendments, will be posted at this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the site to assure that they have the most up to date information regarding the acquisition. The anticipated release date for the solicitation (request for quote) is May 11, 2004. NAICS Code 334516 size standard 500employees.
