- This is a Sources Sought Notice only. This is not a request for proposal but a survey to locate potential sources to furnish and operate a Brush Cutter/Mulcher machine such as a Timber AX to remove shrubs, herbaceous vegetation and unwanted conifer trees less then 6 inches in diameter on the Diamond Lake Ranger District, Umpqua National Forest. Treatment area is 49 acres divided between 4 separate units ranging in size from 10 to 16 acres. 50 to 60 percent of the vegetation will be treated using a random approach creating treated and untreated areas to improve wildlife habitat conditions. The solicitation, when issued on or about May 25, 2004 will be a Request for Quotes. A best value approach will be the method of contractor selection. Interested parties are asked to submit a brief description of their company?s business, include descriptions of equipment, year, make, and model. Include points of contact, company address, telephone number and fax number. Copies of company literature, brochures, or other information can be submitted. Extensive, elaborate and specially prepared documents are neither required nor desired.
