The subject requirement is for acquisition of 4 NSN(s) with various end items. This proposed procurement includes a family group of items within the Federal Supply Class 2920, 2940, 2530, and 2990. See Note(s): 26. The requirement will result in an award of an Indefinite Quantity Contract for which delivery orders may be placed for one (1) year. The solicitation will be available in FedBizOpps on or about 21 May?04 at http://dibbs.dscc.dla.mil/rfp. NSN 2920-00-775-7691 requires engineering source approval by the design control activity in order to maintain the quality of the part. The approved source(s) retain data rights, manufacturing knowledge, or technical data that are not economically available to the Government, and the data knowledge is essential to maintaining the quality of the part. In regard to NSN 2940-01-360-6368, the data needed to acquire this part competitively is not physically available, it cannot be obtained economically, nor is it possible to draft adequate specifications or any other adequate economical description of the material for a competitive solicitation. Due to the criticality of NSN 2990-00-611-5619, the procurement is restricted to source(s) specified on ?Source Control? drawing. The delivery for this acquisition will be on an FOB Destination basis. The proposed procurement contains an option to extend the contract period one or more times at the discretion of the government. The total duration (base plus option years) shall not exceed 5 years. While price may be a significant factor in the evaluation of offers, the final award decision will be based upon a combination of price, delivery, past performance and other evaluation factors as described in the solicitation. This solicitation will be issued as an unrestricted solicitation with other than full and open competition.
