- Description
- A sole source procurement is contemplated to deNovis, Inc. of Lexington, Massachusetts. The procurement is for a software license, consulting and technical support of their eHD health care administration COTS solution. In December 2002 the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) awarded a competitive contract to IBM to redesign part of the Medicare Fee For Service claims processing system?Common Working File Redesign (CWFR). IBM proposed an innovative yet untested technology from deNovis. CMS has a responsibility to exercise due diligence in advance of making a decision to accept deNovis technology as a foundation for Medicare Fee For Service redesign. For the purposes of testing and validating the deNovis technology and to facilitate independence and guard against potential conflict of interest, CMS will procure deNovis specific products and services outside the confines of the existing CWFR contract. CMS knows of no other source for this license or these services. CMS anticipates award of a Firm Fixed Price contract to deNovis, Inc. for a period of performance of twelve (12) months from the date of contract award.
