- Description
- Statement of Duties and Responsibilities: The Regional Advisor for LAC works under the supervision of, and reports directly to, the Senior Regional Advisor, DCHA/OFDA, in Costa Rica. The contractor is responsible for strategic analysis, coordination of disaster response activities, and for the identification and formulation of disaster preparedness, mitigation and training programs primarily in an assigned LAC region. This position requires an experienced practitioner in disaster response and preparedness activities who is able to travel outside of Costa Rica on short notice for up to 2-3 weeks at a time. The contractor will actively develop and coordinate preparedness, mitigation and training programs to increase the capability of host governments, international organizations, and non governmental organizations to respond and prepare for disasters in the affected region.
