- The Social Security Administration (SSA) requires the services of contractors to provide Medical Consultant Services (MCS) in the specialties of Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Neurology, Orthopedics and Physiatry to work under contract for the Social Security Administration's Disability Programs. No other specialties will be considered at this time. The work involves a sample review of medical evidence in disability claims, with no patient contact. Basic computer proficiency is necessary to complete forms, read and answer email messages, and type narrative consultations. Work is performed in a pleasant working environment in the Richard Bolling Federal Building at 601 E. 12th Street, Kansas City, Missouri. A minimum of eight hours is required during the normal workweek, Monday through Friday, at a maximum hourly wage that shall not exceed $68.74. The period of performance will be August 1, 2004, or date of award, whichever is later, through May 31, 2005, with provisions for an one-year option. The solicitation is scheduled for release on or about May 24, 2004 with quotes due back June 24, 2004. This requirement is 100% small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 621111 / 621112 and the size standard is $8.5M. Proposals received from other than small business concerns will not be given any consideration.
