- Description
- Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to replace the existing direct expansion (DX) cooling system with a chilled water system. Contractor shall completely remove all existing DX condensing units piping and coils. Provide and install a new chiller and all piping, coils, pumps. This will require some duct modification, and electrical upgrade. Contractor shall replace the existing controls with new digital controls connected to the VA Medical Center Metasys HVAC control system. There is some general construction required for building a pump room and chase work associated with the piping runs. Electronic solictation documents may be obtained FREE of charge via the VA Business Opportunities website. Requests for hard copy solicitation documents must be in writing to the Contracting Officer and accompanied by a check for $50.00 made out to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Only ONE request for hard copies per contractor will be honored. No telephone or fax requests will be accepted. The drawings are in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will only be available on the VA Business Opportunities website. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments. Issue date is April 30, 2004, Pre-Bid Conference is May 18, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. (No other site visits will be given.) with Bid Opening June 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. local time. The cost range is $275,000 to $375,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 233320. No electronic offers will be accepted. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
