- Anniston Army Depot, Anniston, Alabama, intends to award a requirements-type contract to supplement in house capabilities for support for metal machining and fabrication of parts and components for combat vehicle and weapon systems overhaul and repai r which may include additional processing of newly manufactured parts or modification of existing components. This requirement will be a total Small Business Set-Aside (SBSA) under Solicitation W911KF-04-Q-0109. Proposals must be determined responsive and responsible in order for a contract to be awarded under this procurement. The contractor shall provide machining, welding, cutting, heat treatment, sheet metal work, metal finishing, forging, casting, extrusion, sand blasting, chemical cleaning, degreasing, application of preservatives, assembly, disassembly, and nondestructive testing in accordance with Government Task Delivery Order (TDO) specifications. Task Order delivery will requirements will normally range from 24 hours to 30 days. The contractor shall provide the facilities, staff, and transportation of parts to and from Anniston Army Depot. The Contractor shall perform precision machining, grinding, burnishing, polishing, buffing, and associated inspection as required. Machining and fabrication requirements will vary in size, shape, weight and complexity. Part sizes range from less than one inch to over twenty feet in length. Some fabrications could exceed several thousand pounds. Part complexity could involve dimensional tole rances of less than .0002 of an inch. Ninety percent of the part sizes in this requirement will fall within the following sizes: Cylindrical Parts up to 6 inches diameter by 30 inches in length. Prismatic Parts up to X = 30 inches, Y = 20 inches, Z = 20 inches. Plate Parts up to 96 inches wide by 1 inch thick. The contractor shall provide the capabilities to inspect, test and provide Objective Quality Evidence. The period of performance for this contract will be one year. The Government reserves the right to conduct a pre-award survey prior to award of the contract. NAICS Codes 332710 and 332721 apply. SBA Size Standard is 500 employees. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102(a)(7) and 14.205-1(c); therefore hardcopies will not be provided. Proposals submitted must be in electronic format as stated in the solicitation. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for receipt of proposals may render your proposal non-responsive and result in the rejection of your proposal.
